You child will belong to a tutor group organised on a vertical model with a small number of students from all five-year groups in the same form group. This is a real strength of our school providing a family unit with older ones giving support, advice and care to younger ones. All students are encouraged to be responsible and sensitive towards each other.
Every student is a member of one of four Houses in which the tutor group is based and these are named after Captain Cook’s ships but also represent 4 characteristics which we try to develop in our students. Younger siblings join the same House as older brothers and sisters.
We expect all students and staff to treat each other with respect. We do not accept bullying or racist abuse in any form. We have a clear anti-bullying policy, displayed in every classroom.
If you suspect your child is being bullied let us know – contact Pastoral Year Managers – and we will do our best to solve the problem.
