Tomorrow, Saturday 15th September we will be starting our Primary University. The launch starts at 9.30 am in the Compass Centre. Read on for more.
This will be the eighth year that we have run Saturday morning sessions where talented primary pupils in Year 6 are given the opportunity to take part in challenging, stimulating and fun educational activities.
Below are some snap shots of the group that attended last year.
“I really love music here they have lots of equipment and we get to do loads”
“It was good experimenting with keyboards and other instruments”
“I liked making a rocket and making the egg splat”
“I liked seeing how you could build your rocket so that the egg survived.”
The students are identified by their Primary School. The sessions take place on Saturday mornings (term time only) between 9.30 and 11.30 am. The sessions are organised into topic modules.
The sessions are organised by staff from the College and are led by teachers who are very enthusiastic about their subjects. Some sessions sometimes involve other teachers, for instance from local universities or independent schools, or specialists from industry.
Graduated from 2011/2012 – March 2012
The Primary University runs until Easter and we always celebrate by holding a graduation ceremony. This is a wonderful event where families enjoy celebrating the achievements of the young people.
Comments from students
“I enjoyed making new friends and become comfortable with lots of other people.” “I liked learning about the different cultures”
