In an exciting change to the Academy curriculum and calendar we are offering all of our KS3 students (Years 7-9) the chance to take part in Creativity Week. During the three days students will work in small groups, to complete a project, working towards a clear final outcome.
There are 26 projects that staff have offered, giving students the opportunity to choose from during the final week of term (week commencing 31st March). Students will spend one tutor time session looking through the booklet of project offers, and selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices of project.
In order to support this process, there is a link on the front page of our website to our Creativity Week booklet, can I encourage you to take the time to look through the booklet with your child, in advance of the final week of term, in order to discuss project choices with your child.
The outcomes of the projects will be shared with the community and parents throughout Creativity Week and some will be shared at our Open Evening on Thursday 26th June 2014. It will be lovely to see as many parents a possible coming to the Academy to share in the celebration of the work created by our students.
If your child is in Year 10, they will not be taking part in Creativity Week; Year 10 students will be visiting a range of college and further education providers to take part in ‘Taster Days’ and prepare for the process of applying for the next stage of their education.
I hope you can find the time to look through the booklet of project offers, and I am sure your child will be as excited by the prospect of the range of projects offered, as we are in school.
