The PE department hosted a “WEAR YOUR OWN PE KIT” week in support of Mr Williams’ London Marathon in the last week of term. Students paid a £1 to wear whatever they wanted for the week in PE. By the end of the week we had raised £360.92 for Arthritis Research UK.
Mr Williams said “I am extremely grateful for the fantastic support the students at Redcar Academy have given me. Students went above and beyond and many donated well over the £1 minimum which was amazing!”
The London Marathon took place on Sunday 13th April and we are pleased Mr Williams came through it in good spirits!
He said “It was definitely the hardest thing I have ever done. 26.2 miles is not easy but it was great to know that I had raised so much money for this fantastic cause.”
The grand total raised so far is £1950 which will all be going towards funding research to hopefully cure Arthritis in the future.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the week and donated.
