Redcar Academy has recently achieved the prestigious Investors in Careers Award. This is a quality standard mark for the management of Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) in schools and is evidence of the quality CEIAG we provide to our students. We were assessed over our ability to inform students about the wealth of careers in the world and their future options after school. We received high praise across the school and were able to demonstrate that we have a comprehensive careers programme for all students beginning with the transition from primary school through to Year 11 including transition to post 16 education or training.
Very few schools across the Tees Valley have achieved this high accolade and we are working hard to ensure we maintain these high standards. We were praised for our CLIC Days, school policy, college/university/business links and work experience programme, as well as our whole school approach. The students who met with the assessor explained how the school was helping them become confident and independent young adults who are prepared to go on to college, apprenticeships or training after they leave school.
We are committed to providing high quality, independent and personalised careers education for all of our students, preparing them for the demands of adult life; this is evident in our CEIAG entitlement information which enables pupils, parents/carers and the school community to know what to expect from the careers programme here at Redcar Academy.
