On Friday 3rd July Redcar Academy hosted the Trust 4 Learning’s Voice of Youth Debating competition, this is an annual event in which local secondary schools, belonging to the 4 Learning (Redcar Academy, Sacred Heart & Rye Hills), enter their debating teams. The following aspects were also taken into consideration:
We are delighted to announce that the Year 9 team from Sacred Heart (Ines Antunes, Emma Buckworth and Camilla Edwards) won the Year 9 contest and our very own Year 10 team (Joe Sanderson, Jack Sullivan and Georgia Noble) won the Year 10 contest.
We’d like to thank the 4 judges (Doug Hallam, Sameer Al Attar, Farrah Husain and George Dunning) that gave up their time to support this event, our very own Mr Hobbs who chaired the debates, and the parents, school Governors/Directors and members of Senior staff from each school that attended to join the audience. There were also a number of students that didn’t speak on the day but did a considerable amount of research beforehand to support and help prepare their debating teams, a big well done to ALL students involved!
We’re no longer here! We’re over at @OutwoodRedcar now!
